OFF ROADING

OFF ROADING

Finally, I write something for adrenaline lovers in the automotive world. Although I have a good driving experience on the road, there is always a desire to try something new. A new track, a new vehicle and new driving conditions – this is what attracts a motorist in me. This is the case with most motorists, and I must admit that the idea of testing the car to the limit can be fun. Some argue that off-road is intended exclusively for nature lovers who want to be at peace with nature in the most natural of possible environments. Do not worry; this is just an excuse for impassability. So what exactly does the term “SUV” mean? The technical definition will indicate that it is the practice of using specialized vehicles to cross dirt roads, riverbeds, rocks, sand, mud, snow or any other natural landscape. These cars are made or modified exclusively for work in such extreme conditions. This concept may have evolved with the idea of specially designed light combat vehicles capable of conquering most of the territories that were used in the two world wars. For off-road enthusiasts, this means enjoying a ride on an SUV to places that ordinary cars cannot reach, and on the go, testing their driving abilities and the endurance limits of their car to the maximum. To get the best experience when driving off-road, you need a car that can withstand such activity, otherwise you will be at a dead end. Such a vehicle is specially designed taking into account off-road conditions and, therefore, the basic characteristics of the car, such as high ground clearance, strong tires, four-wheel drive, front and rear axle lock differentials and powerful engines. There are modern SUVs that are also equipped with features such as traction control, adjustable suspension, four-wheel drive, etc. Some types of vehicles suitable for off-road use are 4×4 heavy trucks, SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles), ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), motorcycles, snowmobiles, mountain bikes, etc. An SUV as a sport has gained immense popularity over the years, and there are member clubs that are dedicated to the interests of SUVs. This is an entertaining activity for people who can afford to spend on it. You can certainly enjoy this sport even if you don’t have a 4×4 car  by joining one of these clubs. Some off-road sports include Green Track, Mudding, Dune Bashing, Crawling Rock and Formula Off-Roading. Although there are restrictions on this sport in some countries, this does not stop adventurers from exploring the natural landscape with their vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers have spent millions of dollars researching to create the perfect SUVs that can withstand not only extreme driving and terrain conditions, but also achieve maximum performance under normal conditions. Some of the most famous car manufacturers in the world, known for their off-road models, are Jeep, Land Rover and General Motors. Off-road enthusiasts rely not only on their cars. Experienced SUVs will tell you that driving technology is a prerequisite for conquering extreme natural landscapes. In addition, it makes no sense to drive a fully loaded SUV if you do not know which function of the car to use in which driving conditions. In this case, a lack of knowledge can be dangerous. Each area has a special driving technique. For example, dirt roads require constant acceleration without reaching higher engine speeds. Whatever the terrain, it is important that you know which driving techniques to use in order to safely negotiate conditions and enjoy driving. No matter what they say or do, the roads are here to stay, and I won’t be surprised if this practice gains more popularity in the coming years.
