After many teasers and spy shots, Nissan has finally unveiled the next generation LEAF, which the world will see in Las Vegas.
Carrying an EV torch for the Japanese automaker for the new model, LEAF 2018 promises many improvements over the previous model. This includes better battery performance and more technology.
Looking somewhat like a sleeker Chevrolet Bolt, the second-gen LEAF follows Nissan’s new design philosophy. Within that new design, which takes on the appearance of a more traditional hatchback, Nissan boasts roominess and lots of new advanced telematics systems.
“When we launched LEAF in 2010, it immediately became the most affordable and massive electric vehicle market in the world. We are not backing away from this offer, ”said Jose Munoz, Director of Productivity, Nissan North America, Inc. “The cost equation for the new LEAF is even stronger than ever before, starting with a starting MSRP1 below $ 30,000. This is a lower price than the LEAF on the market today, and it includes more power, assortment and technology, all in a beautiful new exterior and interior design. ”
