Audi A4 gains a six-speed manual as standard with all-wheel drive

The 2017 Audi A4 is the only car in its class to offer both all-wheel drive and a manual as standard.

Recently, Audi has taken a pretty big step for enthusiasts. For the updated 2017 A4 sedan, they added a new six-speed manual gearbox as standard with quattro all-wheel drive. This means that the Audi A4 2017 is the only sedan in its class offering both four-wheel drive and manual.

If available, it can accelerate to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds, which is about 0.7 seconds faster than the latest model. In part, this is also due to the rather powerful TFSI 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

But unfortunately, it still loses to the automatically-equipped A4 with dual clutch, which reaches 60 in just 5.2 seconds.

The improvement compared to the latest model is due to the overall optimization of the design of the screw swap. It weighs less than the previous box due to its widespread use of magnesium. There is also a smaller clutch, hollow shafts and open gears.

In addition to the standard guidance, the Audi A4 2017 receives the new Sport plus package. The company claims to provide “the design and performance of the S model in an entry-level version.” Thus, customers no longer need to have a lot of money to get a pretentious athletic appearance.

For the Sport plus package, the Audi A4 acquires metal interior trim, sports seats and other tidbits on the outside to make things a little more interesting.
