Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft Office might join forces

Mercedes-Benz wants to increase your productivity during your commute.

The IFA 2016 meeting has just happened, or, in essence, our Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show for the entire European continent. There, Microsoft announced a partnership with Mercedes-Benz for the In Car Office project, and that’s exactly what it looks like.

Autonomous driving technology continues to evolve and provides a huge potential future for the automotive industry. This way, people will eventually find ways to keep themselves busy at a time when they don’t need to pay attention to the road. this, obviously, became possible only thanks to the technology of autonomous driving.

Part of the concept of autonomous driving gives the driver the opportunity to do something other than driving. This may include replies to emails or work on a project.

Seeing how a very large part of computer documents produces documents in the Microsoft Office application suite, Mercedes-Benz decided that it would be right to connect with Microsoft itself to work on integration in the car.

The idea is that the driver file can be accessed through the car’s infotainment display or a cluster of digital sensors. Drivers will be able to work with calendars, contacts and to-do lists, while synchronizing it with other Microsoft applications through cloud storage. Microsoft Exchange is also supported.

Mercedes-Benz did not check the release date for the integration with Office.
