Acura helped launch the 2016 Beijing Motor Show in today’s largest car market with the all-new entry-level CDX crossover. This is not only a new crossover located below the RDX, it will be the first Acura model built in China in the world.
The new Acura CDX is freely based on and about the same size as the Honda CR-V, but they are significantly different.
Stylistically, the CDX is modeled on the Acura Precision concept from the Detroit Auto Show 2016, which includes the recently tinted Acura grille that says goodbye to the beak of the last decade or so.
Power is provided by a four-stroke 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 182 hp. and 177 lb-ft with eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive with dual clutch. Customers can also choose only from the front-wheel drive mechanism.
There is no word on whether the CDX will go beyond the Chinese market. But I don’t really think that we really miss.
