The Steering rack also known as Rack and Pinion is a type of linear actuator that encloses a circular gear that connects a linear gear (rack) that works to convert rotational motion to linear motion. Although some advice that helical gears are know to be a “quieter” surgery, no science supports this theory. Spiral shelves, while cheaper, increase lateral torque in the references, increasing operating temperature and early wear. Flat shelves require less operating force and offer higher torques and speeds as a percentage of gear ratio, allow lower operating temperature, and reduce viscous friction and power consumption. While the pants are separate, the attached shelves move across the pants in different directions than the two shelves. The two shelves are gears which are mix in teeth equal to the foam. As the two shelves move, the gear turns and the main water pipe connection valve turns.
