Chevrolet Traverse 3.6 PCM

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM), sometimes referred to as the Engine Control Module (PCM/ECM/ECU), is the brains of all modern vehicles. These computers monitor various metrics to make sure the engine is running at optimum performance. They also store error codes that can be used to diagnose a number of engine and transmission problems. Each vehicle trim comes with a unique PCM, a pre-programmed Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

While some computers can last several years, PCM wears out over time. Faulty PCM and damaged engine control modules are common in older vehicles such as the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. You can purchase and install a new PCM to avoid the intermittent performance issues that are common with failed computers.

Is your 2010 Chevrolet Traverse damaged?

The 2010 Chevy Traverse is usually found in the engine bay on the driver’s side, on the firewall, or near the battery. There are several signs of a bad or malfunctioning computer.

*Engine cranks but won’t start
*Problem with stalling when shifting gears or starting the car
*Intermittent misfires
*Peculiar odor and emissions increased
*Ignition coil not getting enough spark
*Troubleshooting P1792 (Engine Coolant Signal Codes from ECM to TCM), P06010 (Internal Control Modules Memory Checksum Error), P0606 (ECM *Processor Error), P1890 (ECM Data Input Circuit) and P1690 (ECM Circuit Overflow) and others
