Maserati to drop sports cars for now, focus on crossovers, EVs, and hybrids

What’s going on?
Maserati’s business is not so simple, as they are still struggling to achieve sales goals. We hope that the introduction and launch of the new Levante crossover will change this. Although, because of this, Maserati has been preparing support for the lineup without sports cars for a couple of years, paying special attention to crossovers and sedans.
This means that the replacement of GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be delayed until 2019 or 2020. Production is scheduled to be completed in 2017.
What’s left?

While sports cars are on the priority list, crossovers and sedans are growing, or mostly cars that sell and make a profit. Once production for GranTurismo and GranCabrio ends, it leaves Levante, Ghibli and Quattroporte.

If you are afraid absolutely not. They will be back, it will be just time.

Oh yes, beautiful Alfieri. Unfortunately, this is the future sports car for the Maserati, so yes, that too will be delayed. But Maserati promises that this will happen, and it’s just a “hold”, according to CEO of Raid Bigland.

We can expect some all-electric Maseratis. The company continues to explore hybrid, hybrid, and 48-volt EV powertrains, including Maserati Europe managing director Giulio Pastore.
