Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is a midsize mini-me S-Class Coupe

Why didn’t they just call it the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe in size medium?

What’s going on?

Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the latest version of the E-Class line: the new E-Class Coupe. Following the recipe of the previous model, the new E-Class Coupe is a more personal two-door version of the four-door E-Class sedan. And because of this, it is very reminiscent of its larger S-class counterparts, but in proportions that are not as compact as the new C-Class coupe.

Word. There’s a new E-Class Coupe. So what’s new about it?

Internally named C213, C for Coupe, as its sedan accepts the W213 chassis code, the new E-Class Coupe is packed with the latest technology. Then it is all packaged in the stylish, modern European packaging commonly expected from Silver Arrow. In size, it increases significantly in length by almost five inches, while 4.4 of them are included in the wheelbase. The width jumps by three, and the height jumps by 1.3 compared to the outgoing model.

Using the same 1,200 engineers to develop the 2017 E-Class as a whole, the coupe boasts the same optional autonomous driving technology as in the sedan. The interior is equipped with the same widescreen display, which serves as a combination of instruments for the driver and the infotainment display of the center console, as in the S-class. The 12.3-inch E-Class Coupe is equipped with a high-resolution display and the latest Mercedes COMAND system.
