Germany sees an ICE-free new vehicle world by 2030.
It hits many motorists in the heart, like daggers. But Germany recently put a ban on the sale of cars with gasoline and diesel engines by 2020.
Who:
Yes, the country is home to BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen, among several others in various aspects. But the German Federal Council, the Bundesrat, has just passed a new decree banning the sale of new cars with internal combustion engines.
What:
The plan provides for obtaining full effect status by 2030. After 2030, Germany will require you to purchase a car with zero emissions, whether it is fully electric or powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. Nothing official was signed, but the bill is ready for a proposal with the European Union.
This could mark an unprecedented move and extremely radical changes in the automotive industry, as we know it. But for now, the prospects for a well-maintained internal combustion engine remain bleak as governments and automakers seek to create an all-electric vehicle.
